RTLS – Real-Time Location Systems
RTLS solutions enable real-time tracking of products, pallets, cases, transport carts, forklifts, and equipment within the facility. Radio frequency-based technologies are mostly used in RTLS systems. Depending on requirements, optical and acoustic methods like infrared or ultrasound can also be utilized. The current position and historical movements of assets are monitored digitally.
By analyzing material flows, waiting times, transport routes, and area zone entries/exits, the system makes internal logistics processes highly visible. Thanks to integration with ERP, MES, WMS, and maintenance systems, location data can be used for automated operational process management.
